Instead of cycling through the draft in a rush to revise 5,000 words a day, I'm going to instead target areas of the novel where I know I want to add stuff or change what I have. I'll call this a clean-up draft, and I should be able to finish it off by Friday. I'll print off this draft and look at it on the road next week so that I have all my notes for the revisions. Then I can take two or three weeks to revise and come out with a stronger draft at the other end. Sometimes, I'm in too much of a hurry. This is one time when I'd like to slow things down and do it right.
